An array of talented musicians, dancers and other artists will take to the streets for Luton BID’s fourth year of events. Among the acts…
Luton Concert Band
Luton Youth Concert Band was formed in 1999 and is comprised of the best students in the town and local area. The band has a standard wind band repertoire, performing classical through to modern music, including film and show tunes. It gives regular concerts and has toured the Isle of Wight, Ireland, Cornwall, Malta, Belgium and Germany, and is very fortunate to be supported by Luton Rotary Club. The band played in the finals of the National Festival of Music for Youth in both 2011 and 2014.
Barton Community Choir
Barton Community Choir was established in September 2010, following a conversation down the local pub! Rehearsals on Monday evenings are full of fun and laughter, and are led by Rachel Maloy. The choir is a true community choir in the sense that there are no auditions, all music is taught through the aural tradition, and the emphasis is on singing for enjoyment. A non-competitive choir, they perform up to three times a year at local concerts and events and are always looking for new members to come along for a free taster session – www.bartoncommunitychoir.org.uk
Rayners School of Dance
Rayners School of Dancing is based in the Sundon Park area of Luton – their aim is to get everyone dancing whatever the age – Commercial, Street, Ballroom, Latin and many other styles.
Messy Moss is the UK’s only painter, decorator and juggler. He’ll be painting the town red, yellow and green and teaching circus skill whatever the weather. Not to worry if it rains as he’ll be sure to apply two coats.
