The Mall Luton is welcoming back their popular storytelling sessions to coincide with World Book Day.

The Mall has teamed up with World Book Day organisers, bringing stories to life with their free storytelling sessions held in Smith’s Square.

Starting on World Book Day (Thursday 5th March) right up until Sunday 8th March, families are invited to sit back and relax whilst listening to stories from their favourite books. The Mall will also be holding a quiet hour from 10am-11am on Sunday 8th March to make sure everyone has the chance to enjoy these sessions.

Lavinia Douglass, Marketing Manager at The Mall Luton, commented: “In this digital age it is vitally important that we still nurture a love of literature and I am sure that many of us remember how wonderful story time was at school!

“Our sessions will be great fun and will hopefully inspire children to pick up, and get lost in, a book!

“We believe everyone should be given the opportunity to enjoy reading, or being read to, so the event is a perfect way to celebrate a day that is dedicated to literature.”

Costume Swap

The Mall is also inviting families to help the planet and save money at the same time with their costume swap starting from now and running up until World Book Day.

1 – Simply bring a clean, gently used costume to the Ask Me Point and swap it for another donated costume.

2 – Don’t have a costume to swap? Even if you don’t have a costume to donate it doesn’t matter, you can still collect a new costume (if we have any left!).

3- All costume donations are gratefully received.

Continuing their reusable theme, The Mall has also hidden a number of books around the centre. Children are tasked to find the hidden books, take a read and then pass on!
