13th October 2016: Our ambassadors are now wearing special video cameras to help combat crime and anti-social behaviour in Luton town centre.
The special cameras, known as ‘body cams’ are being worn by our Ambassadors around their waist as they go about their daily duties.
Through their important role in the community, the Ambassadors are in a very good position to be able to record any instances and events that they may see in the town centre.
Ambassadors have received significant training on the body cams, which will be turned on to record during any event of anti-social behaviour.
The new cameras are another example of how Luton BID is working in partnership with the police to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, and prevent abuse and attacks on Ambassadors.
