A three month programme of free events is being launched in Luton town centre this month, designed to help resident businesses increase their profitability in 2016.
Luton Business Improvement District (BID) is working with the national Healthy High Streets programme to organise the Mentoring and Upskilling Programme, a combination of one to one coaching sessions, workshops and training events for businesses based in Luton town centre.
To get involved businesses are being invited to a drop in event at Santander, George Street, on Tuesday, 26th January from 6pm to 8pm – to meet the trainers, coaches, ask questions, network and register interest.
Fergus McLardy, Luton BID Project Manager, said: “These events, all focused on different business issues and challenges, are all about upskilling business owners and staff and ultimately about helping our businesses to increase their profitability. Our launch event will enable businesses to ask questions, speak to trainers face to face, network with other business owners and staff and to book on to events.”
Mohammed Ali, Local Business Manager at Santander, added: “This is an exciting programme of events that have a direct relevance to businesses in Luton town centre. Our programme has been shaped to address local issues and challenges and to help businesses upskill and become more profitable. We are delighted to be involved, to be hosting the launch event and to be working with Luton BID for the benefit of all Luton businesses.
The BID’s Mentoring and Upskilling Programme is made up of more than 25 business events – focusing on everything from food hygiene and merchandising to tax, business growth strategy, marketing, property, pest control, auditing and customer service.
Business managers and staff across Luton town centre are being encouraged to take advantage of this free programme and attend the BID’s launch drop in event on 26th January at Santander. There is no need to book but if anyone has any queries they can contact the BID on 01582 510657 or email info@lutonbid.org
