A day of deep cleaning has been commissioned by the Luton BID with critical areas in the town centre to get the gold treatment this Saturday (26th September).

The hot spots in need of attention were identified by the BID’s three uniformed Ambassadors, whose role includes patrolling the town centre, supporting businesses and welcoming visitors. The areas in need of cleaning were also reported by resident businesses.

Street cleaning, to improve the appearance and overall feel of the town centre, was flagged up as a priority when businesses voted yes to becoming a Business Improvement District.

Another priority for Luton town centre, included in the new BID Business Plan, is to provide a safe, attractive and appealing experience for visitors and workers in Luton town centre to enjoy.

For that reason the Luton town centre BID has organised its first Safer Neighbourhood Days, set to take place on Monday and Tuesday, 28th and 29th September. On these days a Luton town centre BID Ambassador and Police Officer will visit businesses to talk about business crime intelligence sharing and to offer crime prevention advice.

  • If you would like a visit on the day, please speak to one of the Ambassadors or contact the BID team by calling 01582 510657.
  • The BID is working closely with LBC Street Cleansing Department which responds promptly to issues reported by the Ambassadors. If you have any particular issue with fly tipping, graffiti or street cleansing, you can report it directly to the Council Street Cleaning Team on 01582 510333 or contact the BID office.

For all Luton BID enquiries contact Fabiana Panetta by calling 01582 510657 or emailing info@lutonbid. www.lutonbid.org
