The Lewis Foundation’s Outlet Shop in The Mall Luton will be officially opened by the Mayor of Luton on Saturday 22nd June at 10am.
The Lewis Foundation’s Outlet Shop in The Mall Luton invites people from across Luton to join in the fun at its official launch event on Saturday 22nd June, 2024. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10am, carried out by the Mayor of Luton, Councillor Tahmina Saleem, children can come along to the store from 11am – 3pm to have their faces glittered and go home with a balloon. And, the store is offering 10% off all items all day. As well, from 10.30am – 12.30pm, store visitors of all ages will be able to make their own creative, colourful contributions to a bespoke Luton-centric mural created by Marvin at LemonPop. The completed mural will then be displayed in the shop for everyone to enjoy.
Open since the 18th of May, The Lewis Foundation Outlet Shop is fully stocked with branded toiletries, make-up, toys and cleaning products, alongside other items kindly donated by UK businesses. Items are in their original packaging and are either end of line, excess or unwanted stock that has been discontinued or is no longer needed by local retailers, manufacturers and warehouses. Money taken is ploughed straight back into the charity, helping to provide over 2,000 free gift bags every week to people undergoing cancer treatment at 17 hospitals across the region, including Luton & Dunstable and Bedford hospitals.
Lorraine Lewis, CEO and charity founder said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better start here at The Mall Luton. We’ve been so very busy since day one and it’s great to have the opportunity to give something back to the community by putting on this event for everyone to enjoy. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’re received from the Luton community since we opened and we’re really looking forward to seeing some familiar faces on the day, as well as welcoming new customers into the shop.”
Roy Greening, Centre Director at The Mall Luton, said: “The Lewis Foundation’s shop here at The Mall is helping to raise funds for this fantastic organisation, as well as providing the opportunity for customers to get their hands on some retail bargains. We’re delighted to be able to support such a wonderful charity that brings such welcome support to those undergoing treatment in hospital.”
