Luton Business Improvement District (BID) is a finalist in the SME Luton & Bedfordshire Business Awards.

Luton BID is up against 11 others in the Luton Business of the Year category, and was applauded by judges for its commitment to projects which help make the town centre safer and more accessible and appealing for businesses and visitors.

Winners will be announced during a prestigious awards ceremony in May.

Gavin O’Brien, Chair of Luton BID and co-director of town centre-based business, Clearhead, said:  BID director said: “This news is a real boost to the Luton BID team and our businesses as we enter our renewal year. We have been working very hard since the BID was voted for by town centre businesses in 2015, to support and promote business growth and to develop and invest in a sense of community. To have made it through to the finals of these prestigious awards is a real testament to how far we have come, and it highlights what a real difference the BID makes.”

Luton BID’s projects are focused on four key objectives – promotion, environment, experience, businesses working together.

As part of the renewal process businesses in Luton town centre will be asked what they would like tackled in the next five years at the upcoming Luton BID Renewal launch event on 27th February and through detailed surveys.
