Luton Point are set to host a free Bee Awareness Day on Monday 28th October for families to attend during Half Term.

From 11am – 3pm in Central Square, shoppers can stop by and learn more about the curious creatures and how to allow them to thrive in outdoor spaces and gardens.

Young bug enthusiasts can take part in bee themed arts and crafts and find out some fun facts about the intelligent and social animals. Shoppers can also purchase some delicious honey made from the bees from Luton Point’s very own bee hives, located on the roof of the building and harvested by their employees.

Honey is priced at £10 per jar, with all proceeds donated directly to Luton Foodbank, a long-standing charity partner of Luton Point.

Throughout the event day, donations will also be accepted for the foodbank’s Luton Smiles campaign, which is aiming to raise £5,000 to deliver Christmas dinner and gifts to  1,000 families living in hardship in the local area.

Lavinia Douglass, Marketing Manager at Luton Point commented: “We are buzzing to celebrate with our very own Bee Awareness Day for shoppers on Monday 28th October. Stop by Central Square to learn about how you can encourage thriving populations in our local area, enjoy some crafts and of course, try our very own honey! We look forward to seeing you there!”

Please note donations and purchases are cash only and crafts are whilst stocks last.

Luton Point will also be host to a larger-than-life board game for their Roll to Win event for Half Term, where shoppers at stores in the centre can play to win fantastic prizes when they show their receipts from Tuesday 29th October to Saturday 2nd November. T&Cs apply, and more information can be found here.

Further information can be found on Luton Point’s website.
