11th May 2016: The Red Lion bar in Castle Street has scooped the top BID prize in this year’s Best Bar None Luton awards.
The Luton hotel bar was crowned Luton BID Outstanding 2016 venue, a category sponsored by Luton Business Improvement District (BID).
Fourteen bars and clubs in total were recognised on the night – awarded bronze, silver and gold awards by this national scheme which is designed to promote responsible trading and reduce alcohol related crime.
Fergus McLardy, Luton BID Manager, said: “A huge congratulations to all the winners, excellent venues which offer families and friends an enticing reason to visit Luton town centre by night.
“Luton BID is proud to celebrate and support these town centre best bars and clubs and to have been this year’s key sponsor of Best Bar None, a national awards scheme designed to promote good practice, raise standards and nurture a safe town centre.”
