It has been announced today that Luton will be removed as an area of intervention in the fight against COVID-19.

Last week, following a rise in local coronavirus cases, Luton Council agreed with the government to pause the further relaxation of lockdown measures.
The lifting of these additional measures means that indoor gyms, swimming pools and fitness studios that had to remain closed, will now be allowed to open – this is likely to start next week from 3rd August.
Following the latest government announcements on a national level, close contact services – including bowling alleys, casinos and facial beauty treatments – are now unable to reopen. These restrictions will be in place UK-wide and are due to be reviewed in the next two weeks.
In the meantime, Luton Council will continue to roll out mass testing across the town, which includes introducing additional testing sites for anyone who lives in Luton, even if they do not have symptoms.
Information on this news and details about how to book a free test is available on the Luton Council website – click HERE.
