18th December 2017: Hundreds of shoppers and families turned up to meet Mikey and Donnie from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles during a special Christmas event funded by Luton Business Improvement District (BID).

The heroic brothers made personal appearances on St George’s Square on Saturday 16th December – the latest festive entertainment organised by the BID as part of its wider objective to promote the town centre as a great place to shop and be entertained.

Simon Martin, BID director and store manager of Debenhams said: “It was fantastic to see so many beaming faces from children and their families as they enjoyed our latest Christmas event. Mikey and Donnie from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are popular TV characters and there was a real sense of excitement during their visit. Making sure people enjoy spending longer in the town centre is an aim for the BID not just at Christmas but all year round, but we are delighted that the BID’s festive entertainment programme has been so popular. We are excited about our carols on the square next weekend.”

The last of the BID’s Christmas events is on Saturday 23rd December – festive carol singing at the BID-funded 30ft tree in St George’s Square from 11am – 1pm.
