AW House Celebrates its 50th Birthday!
Happy 50th Birthday to AW House who celebrate their landmark birthday of 50 years!
First formed in 1972 as AW Removals by Russ Allen and operated on Dunstable Road, it soon developed a haulage arm, working with companies like Whitbread’s. Their expansion in the early 80s led to relocation on Wingate Road and soon a fleet of vehicles grew, as AW Commercial repairs was formed.
Their famous move of the Redcoat aircraft fuselage across Luton Airport in the 80s shows how no project was too big for AW Haulage.
1988 came and AW Removals was sold to a local company, Stephen’s removals, thus allowing AW Haulage & AW Commercial repairs to be the focus of the business.
This took AW to Chaul End Lane, with redevelopment of the site leading to the opening of Luton Truckstop which included restaurant, bar and accommodation of drivers.
The next stage in the AW history of course came in 2005 when Luton Truckstop was sold and Dominion house in Luton town centre was renamed AW House. Having been empty for a number of years, the team worked hard to create a clean, welcoming atmosphere that continues to be maintained to this day. Priding themselves on the high-quality office space it provides, continuing to adapt to the current climate with ever changing office size spaces.
AW House on Stuart Street offers a contemporary office space for businesses of all shapes and sizes in Luton town centre. Operated by a small but dedicated team, some of whom have been with the company for over twenty years, they work closely with tenants to ensure they receive the most from AW House.
A hard-working team, AW House have created a modern working space right in the heart of Luton town centre that offers a flexible work space with 24-hour access, offices of all shapes and sizes and even a gym for tenants.
The next generation of the Allen family are also a key part of the AW House journey, hoping to one day pass the family business their three granddaughters, who are regular visitors with their very own AW House t-shirts, just like the AW team!
Happy Birthday AW House, congratulations on 50 amazing years, here’s to the future of AW!
